The Artwork
is YOU.
You are the artwork
You are the why
You are the potential
You are the capacity
The art practice is meditation and learning.. no…. remembering how to see.
“Technique” is a useful tool for maneuvering and certain forms of efficiency, but it should never be confused with the WHY.
On the other side of experience, the artwork is YOU.
We are the works in progress.
Your heart, your perceptions, noticing your truth and fears and learning to be kind to yourself along the way- All of it alive and ever-reorienting.
The often-critical inner voice while practicing art can be a tough one, but it’s why we keep showing up, inviting play or lightness whenever there’s an opening - Creating and discovering alongside others who are open to the task.
Gradually, one may learn that the electric barriers set by our inner critic may be stepped over and passed through. That these are more like old decoration to be taken down. Reconsidered.
In the end, you begin to discover that the inner voice (which speaks in measurement and comparison) is not “you”, but more of an inherited compass.
YOU are pure creative force and potential - to which this “compass of limitations” tries to shout its heeds like orders..
and so we continue the practice of noticing where “we”’are in relation to this voice, softening our eyes, shifting our attention to move instead from the heart and learning to walk through these [illusory] inner walls.*
*I believe this applies to all walks of life.
Let art teach us how to live and experience

I appreciate you sharing this Cam! We are like an unpolished Geode.
